Obituary of MSgt. Jared J. Smith, Jr. USAF (Ret.)

MSgt. Jared Joyner Smith, Jr. USAF (Ret.), 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, 3:00PM in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Eastman, Georgia. Chaplain Andy Pickens will officiate.
Jared was born October 15, 1929 in Greenville, North Carolina to the late Jared J. and Sarah Smith, Sr. He served his country proudly for over twenty years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Jared continued to serve his country as a Logistics Manager retiring after twenty years of civil service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was a member of the Air Force Association and enjoyed working on cars: buying older vehicles and fixing them up. He will be missed by family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jared is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Fordham Smith and son, Michael C. Smith.
Jared is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. Adair of Texas; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
