I was a Counselor at Northside High when Mrs. McMeans was there, always helping and trying to stay on top of Ray Horne
and the Drama Department! She was so delightful to be around and terribly efficient. Sympathy and prayers go to her
family as I know they have enjoyed having she and Jack through these years.

A wonderfully kind and generous human being, I will always remember the laughter and cheer that surrounded Marlys when coming together with her Young cousins. As the daughter of one of those cousins, I marveled at their bond and admired their determination to keep in touch, as well as those Cousin trips with such detailed itineraries! And the shenanigans that happened during those trips, and all of those times they were together. Marlys will be very much missed. Her spirit and presence were a gift to those around her, and peace, light and kindness to her family and friends. Much love, Deborah Gilbert

THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF OUR CHERISHED AUNT. THE FIRST TIME I MET YOU AND UNCLE JACK WAS DURING THE SUMMER OF 1984 IN INDIANOLA. LITTLE DID WE KNOW THAT TOMMY AND I WOULD BE MARRIED 3 YEARS LATER BUT I KNOW YOU WERE PRAYNG WE WOULD. UNCLE JACK EVEN MISSED WATCHING A BASEBALL GAME TO ATTEND OUR WEDDING - SMILES. YOUR LAUGHTER WAS CONTAGIOUS AS I FONDLY THINK OF OUR TIMES TOGETHER SPENT IN THE OZARKS OR WHEN YOU VISITED US IN RHODE ISLAND. YOUR DRINK OF CHOICE WAS ALWAYS A CAN OF TAB.. THEY DISCONTINUED MAKING THAT COLA BUT I KNOW GOD STOCKED UP ON MANY CASES WAITING FOR YOUR ARRIVAL UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, MAY GOD HOLD YOU AND ALL THE FAMILY IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND...
XOXO

When someone considers the special persons who have had a lasting and important impact on their lives, I suppose not many would have the privilege of saying the same person was a dear friend as well as a valued business partner. Marlys was such a person to us! She, along with Jack and Tom and Amy, entrusted us with farming their beloved Round Barn Farm in Iowa for many of those 50 years. We feel so blessed and thankful to have had Marlys as such an important part of our lives. Jack, our dear friend, our hearts and prayers go out to you and to your family. Love, Carl and Connie
