Obituary of Roy D. Bishop
Warner Robins, Georgia – Roy D. Bishop, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 27, 2020 with his beloved family at his bedside. A Funeral Service honoring his life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Friendship Baptist Church in Warner Robins beginning at 2:00PM. A Visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A private graveside service for family only will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Jacksonville National Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered.
Roy was born on January 10, 1936 in McCarley, Mississippi to the late Elise Turner and Roy Bishop. Roy was a true patriotic man who loved his country. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era and many other conflicts up until his retirement. Roy was a simple man who loved the outdoors enjoying the Lords beautiful creation. Roy was an avid hunter whether it was for white tail deer or squirrel. He will forever be remembered as devoted Christian which was shown in his daily walk with the Lord. He was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church for many years. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, waiting for him at the gates of heaven is his sister, Jeannette Johnston.
Left to cherish his memory is his beautiful bride for the last 48 years, Deborah C. Bishop; his beloved children, Mark Bishop (Lisa), Greg Bishop (Trish), Karen Bishop Hoffman, Penny Bishop Alford, Bishop Nhung (Clyde), Cherri Bishop, Dathan Bishop (Kelly), and Jeremny Bishop; 16 grandchildren; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.
