Charlie & I worked at Piedmont Hospital together for many years. He was passionate towards his patients & friends alike. His sarcasm was appreciated by myself after long days at the hospital. We shared a love for crazy TV shows. I could not wait to see him at work to catch up on the latest drama in “our shows”. He was a great man & will be greatly missed by all. Rest In Peace Charlie.

Charlie & I worked at Coliseum Hospital together. I recently told his cousin, Raeanna via FB, that Charlie was with me the day I received my board results to become a licensed PTA. I was hesitant to open the letter with Charlie there because he had already received his board results & knew that he passed...there was never a doubt he wouldn't pass. Charlie offered words of encouragement & positivity while I stood hesitant & apprehensive opening that envelope. Luckily, I passed & we went to a local Mexican restaurant to celebrate!
Charlie was passionate about his profession, loved his family, & clearly, had wonderful friends. He will be greatly missed on this earth but his memory will remain in our hearts forever. RIP Charlie.

I am still at a loss for adequate words for a tribute Charlie justly deserves. Charlie was a cherished co-worker, a true and loyal friend, and my "work-spouse". He could stress me out or say I was too "emotional", but he could always make me laugh, and I could always count on him to be there for me. This is one of my favorite pictures of us and it describes Charlie perfectly: full of life, passion, energy, and ready for a fun adventure. I know in time the memories we shared will bring more smiles and laughs instead of sadness and tears. I miss you my friend. Rest in peace, love you! Erin Povse

So sad and devastated from Charlie's passing. I was in contact with him while he was in the ICU, still texting and sending hopes for a full recovery, which he believed he would have. We all believed he would overcome this horrible pandemic. Sadly, it didn't happen. He will be sorely missed by so many of his friends and loved ones. At some point we will have a rememberance gathering for him to show our love and respect. Rest in peach dear Charlie, you are loved.

I worked with Charlie at Piedmont Hospital. We nurses kindly referred to him as "Dr. Charlie" as he wanted always the very best for his patients, often making suggestions to enhance their care. He will be greatly missed. RIP Charlie.

Charlie,
What fun we had living in Atlanta in the ‘80s. I have such fond memories. I’m so glad we met and our friendship went on for over 30-years.
I’m so thankful we both shared February birthdays of the same year and only four days apart. If we went a few months without catching up. We knew February we would connect. I’m especially thankful for this year from February through May we had several weekly chats and reminisced fun times. I texted you on June 19th to check on you. I heard no reply. I thought you were probably busy. I did not think you were ill.
Today, my friend, I cannot stop crying. I know you are in a better place now with your parents and that is comforting. Know that our friendship will live on in my heart. Your love of life was an inspiration. You were so very thoughtful, giving, and truly cared for others. Your wonderful smile and our common sense of humor would keep us laughing for hours. What a special gift to have known you, yet to be taken away too soon. I’m sorry we did not get to have our Easter reunion, as planned, because of COVID and now I’m sorry to loose you because of COVID.
I love you, and you will be greatly missed my friend.
To Charlie’s family know that he truly loved you. He often spoke of his life in Warner Robins. It was very special to him. JC thank you so much for responding to my Facebook friend request and providing me additional details and the link to this site. Fostine a very special thank you for making sure Oona is cared for. He loved her so very much. Please take care everyone and think of all the fond memories of Charlie.
Sincerely,
Brad Tolley

Our hearts are with Charlie’s large circle of family and friends as we grieve his loss. I became friends with him since around 1988 and have been fortunate to enjoy his great love of life, joy, sense of humor, and loving concern. I will remember his big wide smile and quick wit. He will forever remain our “red headed Charlie”.

Wow, where to start? Charlie and I did not start well, we had a rough beginning at the start of our friendship but it did not take long for a second try, he showed me that sometimes a second try is totally worth it, his sense of humor was like no other and his charisma was also unique. He was a good friend and always appreciated good times, I think he did enjoyed his life. Always a great conversation, a comforting hug, a good laugh, a welcoming smile... those and many other things he was. Thank you for everything you were and everyone you helped amigo, until we meet again.
